Smart Manufacturing

Real-time PLC and SCADA monitoring with a single AI interface. Every production metric stays on your servers, fully compliant with ISO 27001 and GDPR requirements for industrial data.

The Challenge

A modern production line generates thousands of data points per second across PLCs, drives, vision systems, and SCADA servers. Making sense of that data in real time, without building a custom analytics stack, is the core problem. Most cloud-based IIoT platforms solve it by routing your operational data through their infrastructure, creating a privacy and security liability that many manufacturers cannot accept.

Production rates, cycle times, reject ratios, and machine parameters are commercially sensitive. A competitor with access to your OEE data knows your capacity utilisation, your weakest lines, and your maintenance cycles. Keeping that data on-premises is not just a compliance requirement — it is a competitive necessity.

How BunkerM Fits In

BunkerM Enterprise runs as a single Docker container on a server inside your plant network. It extends Eclipse Mosquitto with native Sparkplug B support: when a Siemens S7-1500 PLC publishes its NBIRTH message via Cirrus Link MQTT Transmission, BunkerM reads the birth certificate, registers every metric — Line1.Conveyor.Speed, Station4.RejectCount, Press1.TonnagePeak — and stores current values, engineering units, and quality flags in a local registry.

The AI assistant connects to that registry. A shift supervisor can ask: "Which stations on Line 2 had quality alerts in the last hour?" and get a plain-English answer without opening a SCADA client. A maintenance engineer can ask: "What is the current vibration RMS on Press 3?" and receive the live value with its unit. Setpoint corrections are published as Sparkplug DCMD messages, with a confirmation step before anything executes.

A Typical Deployment

A Tier-1 automotive supplier runs Siemens S7-1500 PLCs across three production lines, bridged to Sparkplug B via Cirrus Link MQTT Transmission. BunkerM Enterprise auto-registers all 180 edge nodes on connect. The shift management team queries OEE data and fault summaries from a phone. The maintenance team uses Telegram to check equipment health between shifts, without logging into the SCADA workstation. All production data, including JIT schedule status and quality gate results, stays on the customer's own server.

Plain MQTT devices — legacy conveyors publishing JSON payloads — run on the same broker simultaneously. There is no requirement to migrate or replace existing equipment.

Privacy & Compliance

🔒 On-premises by design. No metric, no alarm, and no AI command ever reaches a third-party cloud. BunkerM Enterprise runs entirely within your plant network. There is no call-home, no telemetry upload, and no dependency on an external service for core broker or AI functions. This architecture satisfies ISO 27001 data residency requirements and eliminates GDPR transfer risk for any personal data processed in the production environment.

For regulated environments, BunkerM Enterprise supports air-gapped deployment with no internet connectivity required. The AI model runs locally via LM Studio integration, keeping every query and response inside your perimeter.
